SCM McMaster (Hamilton, Ontario) is a burgeoning branch looking to make new friends! At our first meeting on April 18, we’ll be talking about what we want to do. So far, people have expressed interest in some sort of Bible/book study and discussion group. Our slate is clean, and we welcome you to come with your ideas.
I’m hoping we’ll have the chance to meet a few times over the summer already—contact us anytime if you’re interested! SCM McMaster is committed to being an intersectional and safe space, so please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you participate fully.
Coordinator: Rebecca Bauman
Rebecca Bauman became involved with SCM after attending the Cahoots festival in 2016, and they were the summer student assistant that summer. Rebecca is passionate about the arts (in too many forms to keep up!) and their capacity to tell stories and heal hurting relationships. They write poetry and non-fiction at the intersection of faith, social justice, mental health, and queer identity, and enjoy outdoor adventures and music, especially songs where the words reflect liberation theology and a commitment to restoration and justice. In the summer, they can be found reading as many books as possible and making fun culinary experiments, neither of which they have enough time to do fully during the school year. Rebecca loves hearing the stories of friends and strangers and believes that tea is best served in mugs the size of teapots.
