Programs
We are the Student Christian Movement because we feel called to engage the prophetic teachings of the revolutionary Jesus of Nazareth, through study, prayer and action.

SCM offers many opportunities to get involved. In Canada and globally, our students organize and lead programs to educate ourselves and our campuses, build community and take action to transform our world.
General Conference & Council

Pilgrimage of Resistance

Every November, we make a human rights road trip to a massive vigil at the gates of the notorious School of the Americas army base, visiting alternative Christian communities along the route and exploring what social justice means in our world today. [ Read more ]

All Things New magazine
Our general movement magazine is our most read publication. Serving as a forum for the entire movement, ATN has a circulation of 1,100 through the mail, 500 to campuses across Canada, and hundreds through our website. You can download the latest issue, submit an article, poem, liturgy or photo, or get involved in the Editorial Collective.
Anti-Oppression
Anti-Oppression (the resistance of all forms of oppression, including but not limited to racism, classism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, etc) is a core part of SCM. All of our work is guided by our Anti-Oppression Covenant. [ Read more ]
Regional Retreats
![]()
Every term, SCM holds retreats across the country for members of local units – and anyone else interested – to connect, explore a current theme, and build community. Often featuring local activist speakers, creative worship, interactive workshops and fun activities – these retreats are led by and for students like you.
Global Programmes
![]()
As part of the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF), SCM participates in events around the world and is often seeking students to send abroad. With movements in 109 countries and on every continent, inter-regional programmes are an amazing way to travel, learn about student and activist life in other contexts, and learn about the major issues of our world today – themes have included globalization, migration, sexuality, war and occupation. Contact our General Office for more information on upcoming exchanges and events!
