Theme: Spring 2011 – Beyond Borders
We are seeking submissions to the upcoming Spring 2011 issue of All Things New Magazine!
All Things New (ATN,) is the student authored and edited, grassroots magazine of the Student Christian Movement of Canada. It serves as a prophetic voice in Canada, a forum for the movement and space for local groups to share experiences. It gives volunteers the opportunity to be part of an editorial collective, develop skills and be published. ATN is published twice yearly – in the fall and spring.
Our theme for this issue is the same as our upcoming General Conference – issues surrounding the idea of “borders.”
What are borders? How do they oppress and inhibit? Who creates, defines and controls geo-political borders? What are theological and spiritual borders? What is border solidarity? How have you encountered borders in your own life, and how have you worked to move beyond them? How do you think about and challenge political, social, religious and physical borders and barriers?
We are looking for:
- personal reflections
- graphics: art, cartoons, photos
- prayers & liturgies; poetry / prose
- craft or art projects
- anything you feel moved to create
We welcome news and contributions from all SCM Friends and non-SCMers as well. Please spread the callout widely!
