SCM issues draft Resolution on Indigenous Rights for discussion and activism

SCM has issued a draft Resolution on Indigenous Rights for discussion and activism, to be approved at General Council 2009.

The resolution was brought to SCM’s General Conference in May 2009, in response to the growing need and interest in addressing colonization and oppression against Indigenous peoples in Canada. The Resolution was approved in principle, though there was not consensus on several concepts and the matter was approved as a discussion document, to inform students’ activism over the next year.
